Station Manager David Rowell can occasionally be heard on air, helping out, but most of the time is not as visible as the main on-air “personalities”.
He’s also often seen participating when we’re doing outside broadcasts at special events.
David likes to joke that he is more a small town boy than anyone else in the station. He comes from New Zealand, where the sheep outnumbered people, formerly by about 25 to one, and which produces more dairy products per person than anywhere else in the world. As evidence of that past, he still has a distinctive accent. He describes himself as an American by choice, not by birth, and is appreciatively proud of now being a Texan.
